Happy Friday everyone! We hope you have had a great week. Sorry for the later then normal post, it was a very eventful and long night. M thought she was possibly going into labor and being almost an hour away from the hospital and her past quick births we decided to play it safe and make the trip. Baby is great, M was a little dehydrated but after a few hours they decided she wasn’t in active labor and she was ok to go home. She will be taking it easy the next few days just in case.

Foxes out on the prowl

We know we have foxes and raccoons and hawks, we have seen them all occasionally throughout the year. After last year crazy attacks on our flocks we have really tried to keep in eye on changes in the area around the pens. Well Wednesday night we didn’t need to, we heard them heckling in the woods right behind our rabbit cages. At least 3 foxes. The dogs we found out are worthless they took off running. Sil also let us know there were small digging holes in a couple areas around the fence so we doubled checked that and found everything was ok. R scared them off and we didn’t see any problems in the morning. Just another day on the homestead.

The Kitchen Helper

Progress on the kitchen helper is coming along nicely. As you can see it’s taking shape and we are coming up to the finer details. Soon we will be putting on some finish and it will be ready for use.

Planning for next year

This time of year M and R like to reflect on what we accomplished this past spring and summer and see what we can possibly knock out before the new year. It’s also nice to see what we actually accomplished and brings hope for the future.

That pretty much wraps up this week. Just waiting on the new baby to come and adjusting for another body in the house. We are praying for you all and thank you so much for supporting us!
