Canning Apple Pie Filling

Summer time always brings the joy’s of fresh fruit. We love canning and will make multiple trips to the local orchard each spring, summer and fall. We try and hit when everything comes in to there season and when they are on sale so we get the maximum amount for eating and canning for jam’s, fillings, toppings and just regular eating. Apple Sauce which we typically do in the fall time doesn’t last past Christmas most years, and the kids don’t like the store bought any more. This tells you something very important. You can’t beat eating fresh, home grown or local food and if you can save it for later, it’s still better then what you’ll buy in the store.

In the video below Melissa will go over how she can’s her awesome apple pie filling. We try different combinations of apples each year to see what we like the best and this is by fair the best combo. The apples were still firm and were most delicious. We hope you enjoy the video!
